Aspiring guitarists can now have an opportunity to learn from Matt. He is available for instruction in rock guitar soloing and technique, folk and acoustic styles, basic theory, sight-reading, and general musical knowledge. Matt's teaching philosophy revolves around developing the expressiveness of each student.

Matt grew up in a family with a strong film background. His late grandfather, Paul Lazarus, was a prominent figure in Hollywood's golden era of the forties and fifties and later was an instructor at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He also was instrumental in launching the Santa Barbara Film Festival and has a scholarship in his name awarded yearly to aspiring film students. Matt's father, Tom Lazarus, is a screenwriter, director, teacher, and published author. He wrote the 1999 MGM release "Stigmata" and has numerous television and feature film credits. Through this exposure to the film industry, Matt has learned a great deal about movie soundtracks. His soundtrack production is both innovative and evocative.
